In the year 2021, along with some features like the status undo feature, voice waveforms feature, Meta-owned chat messaging app WhatsApp worked tirelessly to offer its users exciting features at regular intervals to keep them hooked up to the platform.

Now, according to a report by WABetaInfo, Whatsapp is reportedly working on bringing two new visual indicators that will notify users about end-to-end encryption within the status screen and the calls screen.

The feature is said to be under development so this implies that the visual indicator feature will be available in a future update.

Meanwhile, the feature tracker shared screenshots of the new indicators:

As you can see in the above screenshot, WhatsApp will display messages “Your status is end-to-end encrypted” and “Your personal calls are end-to-end encrypted” on the status screen and call screen respectively.

The end-to-end encryption for chats was introduced back in 2016. Now with WhatsApp releasing end-to-end encrypted status and end-to-end encrypted calls, it will be a way to regain trust from its users after it came into the bad light following the announcement of its new Terms of Service earlier this year.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has not given any scheduled timeline on when this update will be rolled out to the users.

If we get any update regarding the release date, we will update it here.
