Reportedly, the Meta-owned chat messaging service, WhatsApp is planning to roll out a feature for its Windows users that allows users to chat or send media with themselves.
Last month, WhatsApp introduced the chat with-yourself feature to Android and iOS users, and now they are expanding it to WhatsApp for the Windows Beta app.
Popular WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo reported that the new chat with-yourself feature is available on the latest WhatsApp beta for Windows 2.2248.2.0 update.
With the rollout of the new feature, users can send quick notes, reminders, bookmarks, or any important details to themselves.
Till now, to create personal notes like chat, users had to create a group with at least one participant and remove them after creating a group. However, after the latest update, users can chat with themselves.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp users are required to download the latest version of WhatsApp beta from the Microsoft store to leverage the Message Yourself feature. Once the desktop application is installed, users will view a dedicated chat title “(You)”, where they can deliver important messages or files.
The report further cites that whenever a user sends a message to chat, it will be delivered to all the linked devices. Furthermore, users don’t need to worry about message privacy because the chat will be end-to-end encrypted.
Besides the rollout of the dedicated chat feature, WhatsApp has introduced Avatar that can be set as profile picture and 36 new custom stickers reflecting various emotions and actions.
