Back in 2022, Steam Deck developer Pierre-Loup Griffais teased HDR support via a Twitter post. A few of the games that tease HDR support are Deep Rock Galactic and Halo Infinite.

HDR or High Dynamic Range implies that a monitor can display more dynamic colors and more contrast than SD or Standard Display.

Though HDR support is enabled for Linux Gaming, it is still in the early stages and may take some before it is completely functional.

Meanwhile, HDR on Linux developer Joshua Ashton tweeted about the brightness difference between non-HDR and HDR.
