The Facebook-owned chat messaging app ‘WhatsApp’ is set to update its terms and privacy policy soon.

On late Tuesday evening, WhatsApp users got an in-app notification and were forced to agree to its new Terms of Service (ToS) and new privacy policy or else their account will be deleted.

Notifications about WhatsApp’s Updated Terms of Service and user privacy policy were sent to both Android and iOS versions.

The updated policy will be put into effect from February 8, 2021. In case, users are discontented with the new terms of the company then they will have no other option left but to uninstall the chat application.

On Tuesday late evening, WhatsApp’s Terms of Service update immediately put WhatsApp on Twitter’s trending page.

The key updates include how the company process user data, how businesses utilize Facebook’s services to manage and store the WhatsApp chats. Additionally, if the user does a transaction through the lately launched WhatsApp pay, the firm says that it will process the details of the user, payment account, and transaction details.

Additionally, the company shared the details of how much information will be gathered automatically through the chat application. WhatsApp stated that they will gather data regarding your activity on the app. The activity includes how you utilize their services, how you communicate with others using their app, crash, diagnostics, logs, and reports.
