However, now, the media sharing platform; Instagram is back with an exclusive update.
The new update will allow users to add clickable links to their stories. Besides this, there is also a link sticker too.

Instagram’s New Feature: Clickable Link Stickers
Earlier, Instagram used to offer some selected users to add hyperlinks to the story where viewers could swipe up to visit the page. Even there was a criterion for adding a link to a story i.e: you need to have a verified profile or have a business or creator with at least 10K followers.
However, Instagram lifted this criterion in mid-2021 and at the same time it was testing on a feature named ‘Clickable Link Stickers’.
Unlike the swipe-up gesture, the link sticker allows all the users to add links to their stories.
Instagram on its blog post announced that all its users (regardless of followers number or account type) could leverage their new ability to add links into the stories. Additionally, you will have the option to pick your favorite color for the link sticker.
This link sticker feature will be beneficial, especially for the business to link their products for sale or an influencer link their external blog.
Additionally, Instagram mentioned that the people who abuse this feature to spread misinformation or hate speech will lose access to the Instagram link feature.
Note: This feature is being rolled out on batch, so it will take some time before it reaches everyone.

How to Add Clickable Link Sticker to Your Instagram Story
Before proceeding further, make sure you have the latest version of Instagram on your device. Now, follow the below-mentioned steps to add a clickable link sticker to your Instagram story:
- Open the Instagram app on your phone and then swipe right to go to the section where you add story.
- Now, add the photo or video to your story (from camera roll or click photo or video).
- Once the media is added, swipe up to see sticker selection. You can find the link option beside the poll widget option and below the GIF.
- Tap on the link option. Now paste your copied URL.
- You will now see the link which you can reposition anywhere in that story
- Once you are done, tap on share button to post the story in your account
