Lately, the WordPress development team announced the general availability of WordPress 5.9 aka Joséphine. The WordPress version is now available after it got delayed in November last year.
WordPress 5.9 has been named Joséphine in the honor of international jazz singer and lifelong civil rights campaigner, Joséphine Baker. She believed that all the people could live in harmony together just like different instruments within a jazz band blending to form a track.
The WordPress 5.9 release led by Matt Mullenweg brings along several exciting new features that also include block themes. The newest version of WordPress offers users a whole suite of visual choices in the Site Editor also incorporating font combinations, color schemes, page templates, and image filters.
Additionally, the first default block theme name Twenty Twenty-Two has been included in the update with more block themes to be added in the Themes directory in the future. Meanwhile, the new themes included with WordPress 5.9 remove the need for the customizer and allow users to make changes within the Site Editor.
An always-on responsive menu that adapts to the screen size is also included in the new WordPress update.
Besides all of these features, the WordPress 5.9 Joséphine update incorporates a new redesigned List View that allows users to drag and drop the content. Gallery block lets users style each image in the gallery uniquely or change its layout with simple drag and drop.
