WhatsApp Desktop users can soon get a new feature that allows them to generate account information reports. The feature named Request Account Info is currently available on WhatsApp for Android and WhatsApp for iOS.
The Request Account Info setting in WhatsApp allows users to submit requests to WhatsApp for generating reports containing their activity information, privacy settings, device information.
WABetaInfo, a popular website that tracks WhatsApp Beta features reports that WhatsApp Desktop beta version 2.2204.1 includes the Request Account Info option. However, this feature is yet to be released to beta testers.
Once this feature update comes to the WhatsApp Desktop users, they can easily generate a report containing account information and settings.
Back in 2018, WhatsApp introduced the Request Account Info option to Android and iOS devices before the passing of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) law intended to offer clarity of the details collected by WhatsApp.
Generally, it takes three days for WhatsApp to generate the report and make it available to you.
Note: The Request Account Info option in WhatsApp doesn’t permit users to access messages and conversations made on WhatsApp as stated in WhatsApp’s FAQ page.
