You read it right! WhatsApp has extended the time frame of delete messages for everyone feature. Now, your accidentally send messages even if its up to two days old. Till now, WhatsApp offered its users the time frame of one hour, eight minutes and 16 seconds to delete a message.
Earlier this year in February, Meta-owned chat messaging platform had said working on this extension. The development comes as part of announcement of WhatsApp’s three new privacy features that aims to offer a more secure conversation experience within the app.
The announcement of the feature extension was made by a Tweet on the microblogging platform, “you will have a little over 2 days to delete your messages from your chats after you hit send.”
Back in 2018, when WhatsApp rolled out delete messages for everyone feature, it had max seven minutes of time frame. And, now after considering the requests of the users, WhatsApp has extended the time limit to two days.
Meanwhile, to use this newest privacy feature, users need to update their WhatsApp to the latest version. As we said before, WhatsApp has announced three new privacy features including the ability to exit group chats without notifying everyone and the control over who can see your online status and prevent users taking screenshots on view once messages.
