OVH Data center in Europe was engulfed in flames and took down a myriad of websites and businesses including popular WordPress plugins WP Rocket and Imagify.
OVH is the largest hosting provider in Europe and the third-largest in the globe. This cloud computing company offers VPS, dedicated servers, and other web services.
The hosting company is advising its clients to enact their disaster recovery plans after the fire has rendered several data centers unserviceable, affecting various sites across the globe.

Fire Destroys Strasbourg Data Centers
OVH, the world’s third-largest hosting provider has been affected by the data center catastrophe.
OVH’s French Data Centers, SBG1, SBG2, SBG3, and SBG4 located in Strasbourg were shut down to control the damage from a fire that started in SBG2.
A statement provided by OVH on their status page reads:
We are at the moment encountering a major incident in our DataCenter of Strasbourg with a fire declared in the building SBG2.
Firefighters were immediately on the scene however, could not control the fire that started in SBG2.
The entire site has been isolated, which affects all our services on SBG1, SBG2, SBG3, and SBG4.
If your production is in Strasbourg, we suggest activating your Disaster Recovery Plan.
All our teams are completely mobilized along with the firefighters.
