Web hosting providers’ famous Linux Distro, ‘CloudLinux OS’, is getting a new update for its 8 series.
CloudLinux 8.7, the Operating System based on AlmaLinux 8.7, brings a few changes and introduces new module streams, which we will discuss further.
The latest update of CloudLinux OS brings a similar kernel version, i.e 4.18.0-425.3.1.lve.el8 found in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.7 while the LVE kernel model updated to version 2.0-48.
Likewise, the ISO image of the CloudLinux OS now includes the kernel-modules-extra package bringing support to more hardware.
The following module streams are added in CloudLinux OS 8.7:
- Ruby 3.1
- Mercurial 6.2
- Node.js 18

Last but not least, Admins can use the following code to upgrade to CloudLinux 8.7:
dnf --enablerepo=cloudlinux-rollout-5-bypass install cloudlinux-release
dnf update
