Oracle opens first cloud region in Italy and Nordics

Oracle has opened its first cloud region in Milan, Italy, and concurrently announced the opening of its first cloud region in the Nordics, Stockholm.

Both of the news cloud regions will support the growing cloud computing needs of private as well as public sector organizations.

Oracle Italy’s Vice President and Country General Manager, Mr. Alessandro Ippolito said that keeping in mind the growing needs of the organizations in Italy, Oracle offers its clients access to its cloud infrastructure in Italy to manage most of its crucial data and applications.

Meanwhile, Oracle Sweeeden’s Country Manager, Pelle Ewald said that Nordic infrastructure access will allow the organizations to manage their critical data and application tasks. The company observes a remarkable growth in its cloud business that eventually reflects its client’s urge to rapidly digitize their operations and thereby offer better serve their clients.

Carla Arend, Senior Program Director, Cloud Research Europe, IDC said that the European organizations need to store their data in Europe or in their local country where possible. The launch of Oracle’s Nordic cloud region meets this client’s needs.

With the openings of the two cloud regions, Oracle will have 36 available regions across the world.

Furthermore, the company plans to have at least 44 cloud regions by the end of 2022.
