Over the years, the social networking platform ‘Instagram’ gained huge popularity but was missing a feature to post longer videos on Instagram stories.
Now, according to a report by 9to5Mac, Instagram is testing a major update that allows its users to upload videos to the stories that are up to 60 seconds long.
Currently, if the user uploads a video longer than 15 seconds to their story, it will be split into multiple stories that are up to 15 seconds long.
In the meantime, the popular photo and video sharing app started notifying its users about the new feature with a few users taking to Twitter to talk about the upcoming changes in the app.
Even social media consultant Matt Navarra tweeted “Instagram is testing longer stories segments of up to 60 seconds”
This move comes as the platform’s attempt to beat its competitors; TikTok and Snapchat.
Besides the 60 seconds story feature, Instagram will also bring a new revamped interface for story mode. The interface will allow adding elements like tags or location more easily.
Additionally, a few days back Instagram rolled out a feature called the Take a Break feature that notifies users to take a break after using the platform for a time period ranging 10 minutes, 20 minutes, or 30 minutes.
