Equinix acquires 13 Bell data centers

Equinix declared the acquisition of Bell’s 13 Canadian data centers for $750 million. These latest data centers are anticipated to make roughly $105 million in yearly revenue. The procurement is supposed to end in 2H 2020, directed to customary closing circumstances including administrative approval. 600 clients operating within the data centers will also extend Equinix’s global platform. Equinix and Bell will create a strategic partnership to allow operations in Canada to take max advantage of composite multi-cloud solutions.

Expanding interconnection services coverage

Equinix will extend its interconnection services coverage in Canada coast to coast, presenting it as a market leader in the data center and interconnection services. The company will spread Equinix’s interconnection services to seven new metros. These metros introduce Montreal, Quebec; Ottawa, Ontario; Kamloops and Vancouver, Calgary, Alberta; British Columbia; Millidgeville, New Brunswick; and Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The acquisition will add about 1.2 million gross square feet of data center space and 400,000 square feet of colocation space to Platform Equinix. The data center plants will additionally give a platform for the upcoming developments in Canada.
