The popular web browser, Mozilla Firefox has been updated to version 109 bringing a few new features and security fixes.

Mozilla Firefox 109 brings extension support for Manifest Version 3 (MV3) while Manifest Version 2 (MV2) is enabled by default.

The newest update enables Arbitrary Code Guard in the media playback utility process. Furthermore, users with limited mobility can navigate through the calendar grid and month selection spinners through keyboard shortcuts. A built-in dictionary for spellcheck has been added to Firefox builds in Spanish from Spain (es-ES) and Spanish from Argentina (es-AR).

Now, talking about the changes included with the Mozilla Firefox 109 update are:

  • Dropping the Colorways extension from Firefox.
  • Ctrl or cmd + mouse wheel scroll in macOS now scrolls the page. Earlier the shortcut was used to zoom a page.
  • Manually close/remove URLs from the Recently Closed sections of Firefox View.
