Reportedly, the free-to-download messenger app, WhatsApp, is working on increasing the group chat from 512 members to 1024.

Currently, WhatsApp is testing the new participant limit under the beta channel. For the second time in 2022, WhatsApp is doubling the group chat participant limit. Earlier in June, the chat messaging app increased the limit from 256 to 512 members. Also increased the max file size upload limit to 2GB, and added new emoji reactions to the messages.

Besides these exciting features, WhatsApp is also working on bringing an undo feature to recall deleted messages and an edit option for modifying any messages sent.

According to the popular WhatsApp beta tracker WABetaInfo’s report, the number of members in the group chat will be increased to 1024 in the coming weeks via phase-by-phase updates.

In the forthcoming updates, group admins will get more power over huge group chats, including the ability to manage group joining requests and privileges to add users to the group.

Lastly, WhatsApp hasn’t offered any details about the release date of the feature.
