This year, the photo and video sharing platform Instagram aggressively worked on introducing several new features to enhance the user experience of its users.
And, now it is actively working on the ‘add moderators to live videos’ and ‘story like button’ feature. The reverse engineer Alessandro who first spotted these features has provided a few glimpses of how these features will look like in the future update.
Alessandro Paluzzi ‘@alex193a’ (Twitter handle of the reverse engineer) suggested that Instagram is testing the option to add moderators to Instagram live videos.
At the moment, only the Instagram user that started the live video can manage the comments during the entire live video session.
But, according to the screenshots shared by the developer Alessandro, Instagram will soon allow its users to add moderators to Instagram live videos. This in particular means that the person you pick as a moderator can manage the comments by turning and off the comments, accepting/rejecting requests to go live, answering questions, and much more.
The screenshot shared by the developer Alessandro Paluzzi also indicates that the creator will be able to add only one moderator from the who’s watching list. Instagram may or may not increase the limit of the number of moderators that can manage a live video in the future update.
Besides this, Instagram is also working on the ability to like stories. This feature will be excellent for users who want to know if people liked their story or not. At present, there is no like button on the story. So, the story creator can’t recognize whether the audience (story viewers) likes the content posted on the story.
Meanwhile, there is no clarity on whether the story-like feature will be introduced or not.
If Instagram releases this feature in one of the future updates, it will be game-changing for sure!
