Popular video and photo-sharing platform Instagram has brought a new feature that lets users like the Instagram Stories of other users without sending a direct message. Previously users were able to reshare, reply with a comment or react to the story; however, whenever the user reacts to a story, it was shown in the DM of the user.
Now, following the rollout of the latest Instagram update, users can like the stories without sending a message to the inbox. In addition, the new tool will declutter social responses for more methodical interactions.
On Tuesday, Instagram’s head Adam Mosseri announced that Instagram would be rolling out an update featuring the Private Story Likes. In the latest update, users can tap the heart button and like the story, similar to a regular feed post. The heart icon can be found placed between send message button and the paper airplane icon.
The Private Story Likes won’t display any count like the posts in the feed; they will be displayed on the viewer sheet.
Meanwhile, Mr Mosseri said at the start of the year that the messaging was a key priority. A big chunk of that is concentrating Direct Messages on the conversations among you and the people you care about.
Lately, Instagram has brought a plethora of new features to let users bulk delete posts, comments, and other activities from the platform. Additionally, a feature to filter posts and interactions according to previous comments, likes, and stories replies from a particular date range in the Your Activity section.
