Twitter’s feature to remove any unwanted followers rolled out to web users. The desktop users now don’t need to block the users to remove followers.
Recently, Twitter announced a new feature that allows users to remove followers without having to block them.
This feature gives more control over who follows you on the micro-blogging platform. You can easily remove your followers without blocking them. Additionally, the social media giant states that the people you removed from your followers’ list won’t receive any notification about removal.
Twitter via its support handle @TwitterSupport announced this privacy-related feature i.e: remove Twitter followers from the list without blocking them.
Note: Removing a follower on Twitter is different than blocking someone. Once you remove someone as your follower, they can come back again and follow you once again. However, when you block someone on Twitter, they can’t access your profile.
Having said that, let’s see how to remove followers on Twitter without blocking them.
How to Remove a Twitter Follower
The micro-blogging platform, Twitter further said that the ability to remove followers allows you to be the curator of your follower list.
Here are the steps to remove followers from your Twitter account:
- Sign in to your Twitter account on the desktop
- Navigate to your profile page
- Navigate to your followers page
- Choose the follower that you wish to remove from your list
- Click on the three dot icon which is placed beside the follow/unfollow button
- Click on remove this follower option
One thing you need to note, this Twitter feature is currently available to just desktop users.
Recently, Twitter has been working on releasing a lot of updates especially the updates regarding privacy improvements. In September, Twitter announced that it is working on a safety feature that would allow users on the micro-blogging platform to temporarily block accounts for a week for using harmful language or sending uninvited replies.
