GoDaddy, one of the best hosting company declared on Wednesday that it would be closing the office in Austin and will lay off over 300 workers including the workers in Austin. GoDaddy CEO Aman Bhutani sent an email to the company’s staffs regarding this, additionally, the mail further has been published on the company’s website.

As per the CEO’s mail, the company has come to the conclusion to layoff over 300 jobs and close its Austin office. GoDaddy stated that the transition package offers a path to at least 90 days of financial certainty. The final day of departing team members will be September 1. However, they could utilize the same healthcare perks until September 30.
GoDaddy’s CEO, Aman Bhutani interpreted COVID-19’s impact on GoDaddy by stating that even though their overall business continues to do well, they are yet meeting challenges in the U.S. outbound sales, which includes GoDaddy Social sales. He also added that as proof that overall business is doing well he will update their revenue guidance for the second quarter (Q2). Although the outbound sales team have put several creative efforts in the last three month to reverse the impacts of COVID-19, yet the outcome of these changes are still far below what they require for the operation to be sustainable.
GoDaddy will be closing both the units in Austin locations due to the individual costs and complication in facilities at Austin. Social team members around 331 in Austin would be laid off and rest the members will be continuing to work from home. Additionally, 9 supervisors would be impacted as 213 Arizona based CDT team members will be moved to inbound sales and support and will be altering their leadership ratio. The company also has determined to constitute a single Sales Center of Excellence in Gilbert, Arizona, which affects its Iowa-based inbound sales teams.
