After a gap of seven months, Zorin OS developers have finally rolled out Zorin OS 16.1. Along with several bug fixes and enhancements, the OS update comes with Linux Kernel 5.13.
Furthermore, Zorin OS 16.1 improves the hardware compatibility, now it supports PS5 DualSense controllers, support for latest Intel processors, Nvidia RTX 3050 GPUs, etc.
Here, another point to note is that the ISO version is shipped along with the Linux kernel that is affected by the recent Dirty Pipe vulnerability. But once you install and update the Operating system, the kernel version will be upgraded to 5.13.0.35.44, providing a fix for the vulnerability. Hence, you need to apply the update as soon as you install the newest version of Zorin OS.
Last but not the least, Zorin OS 16.1 ships with GNOME 3.38.6 desktop environment and several preinstalled applications and components including the Mesa 21.2.6 graphics stack and document editor LibreOffice 7.3.
How to Download Zorin OS 16.1?
Basically, there are four versions of Zorin OS 16.1 i.e: Pro, Core, Lite, and Pro Lite. Core and Lite versions can freely be downloaded and installed. However, for the Pro version, you need to pay €39.
