According to various reports, the popular chat messaging app ‘WhatsApp’ is said to be working on bringing the Camera shortcut back to the main Interface.

In the last few updates, WhatsApp removed the camera shortcut and replaced it with the communities tab. But we may soon see the camera shortcut back. Additionally, the messaging app is also working on displaying the option to view updates with the chat list.

Popular WhatsApp feature tracker, WABetaInfo report states that WhatsApp is going to roll out an update that brings the version to 2.22.19.7. The update is said to include a camera shortcut back on the main interface.

It seems that the Communities tab and camera shortcut are important for WhatsApp and the company is looking for a way to bring both features to the main page.

The news about bringing back the camera button comes a few weeks after the news about the status feature update.

The update is being rolled out to beta testers phase-wise. So, it may take a few weeks before it reaches to all beta testers.
