It’s been about six months since the release of iOS 15 and now the new WhatsApp beta for iOS brings a new darker theme that blends well with the iOS 15.
In the last few months, WhatsApp brought several features for iOS users like the support for iOS 15 notifications, Focus mode, showing contact display pic and group display pic on the notification center. Support for a darker theme was missing but that feature has been added to the newest update.
Now, WhatsApp beta users can truly enjoy the dark mode theme on their iOS devices.
Popular WhatsApp feature tracker, WABetaInfo was the first one to report the availability of WhatsApp for iOS beta 22.7.0.76 and now bring a darker theme. The update blends well with the elements of the newer iOS 15.
The tracker further shared a screenshot to better explain the shade difference between the older WhatsApp version and the newer version.
As you can see in the image shared above, the toolbar bottom on older WhatsApp versions appears to be grey whereas the toolbar on the new version is black in colour.
Along with the support for a darker theme, the update also shows the display picture on the notification center. This feature was initially made available for a selected user set in January 2022.
As this is a beta version, we suggest our users to test the update on their secondary account as there may still be bugs present in this version.
In another news update, WhatsApp Desktop beta version 2.2211.3 has been rolled out to beta testers. The update includes several bug fixes including the bug fix for the profile pic and group photos not showing properly on the users’ chat screen.
Now, following the WhatsApp Desktop beta version 2.2211.3 update, the chat screen shows the profile pic and group photos.
