The popular chat messaging app is reportedly working on a feature to ease the message search functionality. Soon WhatsApp users can look for the message by filtering to a specific date. The update is currently being tested on WhatsApp for iOS. The news about the update comes a few days after users reported the mute bug that automatically changed the duration from 1 week to 8 hours on WhatsApp for iOS.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp hasn’t offered any details about the release date and is said to be currently under development.
According to a report by the WhatsApp beta tracker, WABetaInfo, WhatsApp for iOS will like an advanced search feature that allows users to search for a specific message according to the date. Currently, you can search for messages by entering a name or number into the search box.
In 2020, WhatsApp was working on this feature but later stopped. And, now, it resumed the project back again.
WABetaInfo’s report suggests that a new calendar icon will be placed just above the keyboard. Users can tap the icon to search for the message of a specific date.
