Twitter may soon introduce a tipping button on user profiles that allows people to pay tips to users with considerable amount of followers for their great tweet.

Recently, app researcher, Jane Manchun Wong explored that Twitter is working on a feature called ‘Tip Jar’ that offers a way to pay other Twitter users as a token of appreciation for their great tweets. On Thursday and Friday, Miss. Jane shared images to prove her statement about Twitter’s possibility to offer a tipping button on user profiles.

As you can see in the embedded tweet, there is a little blue cash button under the ‘@wongmjane’ watermark in the left image. By clicking or tapping that button supposedly presents you with options that allow you to tip twitter users via Bandcamp, Cash App ( built by Square, a Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey company), Patreon, PayPal, and Venmo.

Twitter presented a slide during Analysts Day virtual event that read:

We are reviewing incentives and exploring solutions to offer financial incentive models for Creators and Publishers.

The ‘Super Follower’ tool will just be useful for those users who have a substantial amount of followers.

Additionally, Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey said, Twitter aims to more than double its total annual revenue to over $7.5 billion in 2023 with at least 315 million mDAU (monetizable daily active users),
