In the last few months, Telegram rolled out several new features to its users. Now, the multi-platform messaging service, Telegram is launching a subscription tier dubbed Telegram Premium for its exclusive features.
Last year, Telegram’s founder, Pavel Durov, stated Telegram’s plans for ads experimentation like placing ads within the posts on the public channels.
Till now, the privacy-focused chat messaging application was completely free, with no signs of sponsored ads on its platform. However, things are changing as the company is monetizing its platform through the ads.
As per Telegram’s recent announcement, it will allow promoting channels via sponsored ads. Reportedly, the ads will be max of 160 characters long and won’t include any external links.
Additionally, Telegram is bringing a subscription-based service dubbed Telegram Premium. The premium plans will start at $4.99.
