Recently, Microsoft released PowerToys 0.58.0, the latest update for its open-source set of utilities for power users.

Unlike other updates, the newest release mainly concentrates on minor fixes, ARM64 development, and upgrading to new dependencies.

Additionally, the latest release of PowerToys uses the .NET version 6 to run and eliminates the .NET Core 3.1 dependencies.

Previously, the PowerToys settings used to run on XAML Islands. Now, the software’s settings will run on WinUI3. Moreover, several bugs associated with the settings have been fixed.

Besides this, the latest release of Microsoft’s open-source tool also includes the following changes:

  • Most of the work for running natively on ARM64 has been included.
  • WebBrowser control has been replaced with WebView2.

If we talk about the primary features of PowerToys, the list includes ColorPicker, Always on Top, FancyZones, and PowerToys Run which boosts your routines on Windows OS.
