Mesa 22.2 is Released, 3D Graphics Library

Popular 3D Graphics Library, Mesa releases a new version i.e 22.2 about four months after the release of the previous version. The update incorporates numerous enhancements including the driver updates for AMD and Intel graphics and also Nvidia’s Nouveau driver.

Mesa 22.2 release includes about 150 bug fixes and patches, earlier planned to be rolled out with Mesa 22.3 version.

Now, talking about the enhancements included in the 22.2 version update is Intel Arc DG2/Alchemist support with tweaks in resizable BAR and compute support.

DG2 Vulkan support gets a code update resulting in a huge performance boost in ray tracing. Intel’s ANV driver obtained the latest Vulkan extensions.

AMD brings RDNA3 support for both Linux Kernel 6.0 and Mesa 22.2. Radeon RADV driver enables ray queries in Mesa 22.2 side.
