Huawei Plans to Invest $23 Million In New Thailand Data Center

Huawei declared that it plans to build a third data center in Thailand in 2021.

The tech giant will spend approximately 23 million US Dollars (700 million Baht) on the facility, an amount similar to its first two data centers in the country.

In 2018, the construction of Huwaei’s first data center in Thailand was completed and in 2019, the second data center was finished and is located in Bangkok.

In May 2020, Huawei released its CloudFabric 2.0 data center network solution, driving the data center network intelligence era. 

Turn Thailand Into Southeast Asia’s Next Digital Hub

The recent investment from Huawei is a part of the plan to turn Thailand into Southeast Asia’s next digital hub.

Abel Deng, CEO of Huawei Technologies Thailand, stated,

We are on a mission to grow in Thailand and contribute to Thailand. Huawei has observed huge advancements done in the growth of the digital economy in Thailand, beginning with Thailand’s 4.0 policy, which exhibited the country’s strong drive to be a digital leader in the province.

Mr. Deng additionally stated that by 2030, the digital economy is anticipated to contribute to 30%.

Huawei has been investing in building next-gen technologies in Thailand, including 5G, Cloud, and AI, to contribute to the digital transformation in Thailand.
