Huawei observes a 29% revenue drop in the first half of 2021
On Friday, the tech giant company Huawei reported a sharp drop in revenue in the first half of this year. The company reported having generated 320 billion yuan in revenue in the first half of 2021, a 29% revenue drop compared to 454 billion yuan in the first half of 2020.
Huawei said that it already anticipated the result of revenue decline.
Huawei’s carrier business saw a decline of 14% in revenue to about 137 billion yuan and on the other hand, Huawei’s enterprise saw a rise of 18% to 36 billion yuan.
Eric Xu, the rotating chairman of Huawei stated that the company’s goal was to survive at a moderate rate.
Xu further said that the external factors affected their consumer business revenue, however, they are self-assured that their carrier and enterprise business will scale gradually.
Talking about the COVID-19 challenges, XU said the current period is tough for all of us and Huawei’s employees have shown great strength and dedication while pushing forward.
A few months back in May, the tech giant company reported that it had laid off 112 employees after the revenue nearly halved in Huawei’s Australian arm.
