Lately, Microsoft rolled out Windows 11 Dev Build 22509 to the insiders within the Dev Channel. The new preview build brings quite a few features and bug fixes for some issues which were reported by the Insiders since June month.
The update also brings a more adaptive Start menu layout where the users can easily switch between three options i.e; add more pins, additional recommendations, and keep the default layout. Besides this, the option to show the clock on the secondary displays (which was not supported in the initial 21H2 release of Windows 11) has also been added.
Meanwhile, the update also fixes the Windows 11 installation block that didn’t allow any new builds to be deployed to the system with the 0x80070002 error codes, and some systems automatically reverted with 0xc1900101-0x4001c error codes.
The Windows Insider team said that they fixed an issue where an error 0x8007001f when the insiders attempted to upgrade to a more recent build within the Dev channel and also the WiFi connectivity issues when the system resumes from sleep state.
Talking about the adaptive Start menu, Windows Insider Team added that starting with this build, Windows 11 Start menu now allows adding an extra row of pins or an extra row of recommendations with more pins or more recommendations layout option.
Having said that, let’s see some of the major highlights in the Windows 11 Dev Build 22509;
- Microsoft Edge’s browsing experience enhanced as typing within the edit fields is now more faster and while you surf on the web, more relevant and useful information will be offered to the users.
- Addressed an issue that crashed explorer.exe unexpectedly.
- Fixed explorer.exe to crash while 3 or more windows are closed in Task view.
