Clients can click “join a gathering” or “start a gathering” from the sidebar inside Gmail, which will provoke another window to spring up.
Google promotes the use of Meet
Recently the company’s security team sent a private email last week notifying staffers that Zoom would stop running on their work machines, meaning “security concerns” in the video conferencing app. It’s worth noting that Google has a video conferencing app named Google Meet (in the past known as Hangout Meet). The organization can easily use that internally and withdraw Zoom for the time being.
The tool is useful for meetings at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. As of March 31, Google Meet’s day by day utilization was 25X higher than it was in January.
The expanded requirement for big business-grade video conferencing devices has provoked Google to step up its advancement of the device, as of late rebranding it from “Hangouts Meet” to Meet.
