It’s been just 4 days since Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp outage. Now, on Friday to these social media giants faced a global outage. The reason for the outage is said to be because of the tweak of its system.
At 21:30 GMT, a Facebook spokesperson apologized on behalf of Facebook and said, “Sincere apologies to anyone who wasn’t able to access our products in the last couple of hours. We fixed the issue, and everything should be back to normal now.”
The popular website DownDetector displayed a surge in reports regarding issues in accessing or utilizing Facebook and issues with the photo-centric app Instagram.
The outage lasted about three hours. So basically this outage was on a minor scale. Facebook explained that the outage occurred due to a configuration change at its computing platform.
Both the companies released statements on Twitter while vowing to get things back to the usual standard.
As per Facebook, Friday’s outage was not all linked with the earlier outage this week. The issue was finally solved by around 5 PM ET.
Several businesses across the world rely on Facebook’s services for their operation and with more than 2.8 Billion monthly users, the outage has affected an enormous percentage of the total global population.
