Recently data center infrastructure supplier announced that factories will be closed in china due to coronavirus threats. Coronavirus will cost $324m warns Schneider Electric Chairman and CEO Jean-Pascal Tricoire. He says the companies are reopened in china but it will cost them around 300 million dollars.
Chairman and CEO Jean-Pascal Tricoire further said figures that are coming out of China are encouraging. He shockingly talked about the impact it will leave due to coronavirus threat which will cost them millions. He also talked about the results of closings, saying So it’s too soon to state, however, it will affect the first quarter and it will affect the second quarter yet we believe we’re going to fix or make up for lost time with the effect inside the year.
Results encouraging in china
Schneider has now revived 80% of the processing plants that were closed down in China. They need to take note that 15% of income came from china itself in 2019.
The coronavirus till now has affected many people. Till now 80000 infection cases and 3000 death cases have been registered. Because of coronavirus two events of ICANN canceled. Facebook also canceled its event. The global marketing summit which was going to take place in san Fransisco canceled.
The company says it is hard to analyze long term impact in this early stage but will recover from it soon. They are expecting that they will recover the manufacturing shortfall within the march.
In the financial results published last week, the company stated that Schneider got good growth in business. The company got around organic growth over 4.2% in all regions. For 2019 Q4, Schneider’s revenues were €7,310 million. Up over 3.0% organically and up over 4.0% respectively the CEO stated.
